Workshop OverviewGet an inside look at Disney’s unique design approach. In this course, participants will learn what makes a theme park tick. Learn the concepts, philosophy and tools necessary to design a working theme park. From visual design elements to practical considerations like Guest flow and maintenance, students will come away with a holistic understanding of how form and function come together to make the seemingly impossible… possible.
Key Learning ObjectivesAfter completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
- -Understand creative problem solving, critical thinking and career-based discussions that apply to the world of design and beyond
- -Identify specific theme park elements and analyze how Disney Imagineers designed them with intent and purpose
- -Explain ways that Disney Imagineers utilize storytelling as the central focus in theme park design
- -Summarize the value and importance of diversity in the collaborative design process
- -Model and construct a range of functional and exciting Guest experiences
- -Determine how the convergence of creative and technical roles are necessary to design a theme park
- -Hypothesize and investigate the unique functional challenges of designing a theme park
- The program at Disneyland Resort in California is available for students in middle school and high school.Â
- (However, the program can be adapted for students in 3rd through 5th grades*)
- Recommended for high school and college students
- Content can be adapted for middle school students
- Minimum of 15 students required per booking to participate in this experience. If we do not meet minimum requirment we can not book. We are planning all Disney events with this in mind. DO NOT WAIT TO BOOK if interested as we can reserve our date as soon as we meet the minimum!Â
-This is a PRE-BOOKING and REGISTRATION as tickets must be paid in FULL 60 days prior to event.Â
Not all visitors have to participate in workshop. Tickets will be sold sepertaly for each option. Parents and children/students who do not particpate can just purchase park entry tickets and forgo the educational workshop portion. Please make final choice before purchasing as there will be no changes available one payment is recieved. Tickets can be transfered to another person via HSC but Disney offers NO REFUNDS (HSC is not responsible for finding guests to fill your reservation due to cancelation. Due to minimum requiremtns, if we don't meet minimum 60 days prior to event we can not book)Â
Daily Parking Rates
- $35 per car or motorcycle - PURCHASE NOW- HERE-Parking is not included in this event and will need to be purchased by you and you are fully responsible for parking your vechile and purchasing your own parking pass. CARPOOLING is encouraged
