About the event

What: Homeschool DIY training series with SD’s Department of Parks and Rec; This program is to teach PARENTS to teach their nature program to grades 3-6. You will learn from rangers how to teach the curriculum, lead a hike, and help connect students to science through nature.

Details: The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation has crafted a curriculum based on their successful “Discovery Program” in which park staff present to elementary school students in their classrooms and then host a field trip for these students at one of our beautiful parks. With Next Generation Science Standards in mind, they have created a fun, engaging, and educational program for parents and guardians to bring their students to any park or natural setting and conduct their own Discovery Program.

Registration: To sign up, please contact Park Ranger Nate Pownell at (619)-538-9157 or nathaniel.pownell@sdcounty.ca.gov.

You may bring your kids to the training if you need to.

Please note, parking is $3 cash at both locations.
