About the event
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon is a 2009 fantasy-adventure children's novel by Grace Lin, inspired by Chinese folklore, about a girl named Minli who journeys to find the Old Man of the Moon to change her family's fortune, meeting a dragon and other magical creatures along the way. The book, which won a Newbery Honor, weaves together Minli's quest with traditional Chinese folktales, exploring themes of gratitude, family, and contentment. It is the first book in a trilogy, followed by Starry River of the Sky and When the Sea Turned to Silver.
