This nature reserve is truly a gem. We enjoy doing the mile long hike (1/2 mile up, 1/2 mile down), then playing and chilling by the creek, hopping stones, and discovering all the native flora and fauna. Just before we embark on our hike, I will invite the kids to gather at a special spot by the creek and sing our HOMESCHOOL SONG! I envision the kids getting so familiar with it that, at some point, they will be able to sing all the parts on their own!
Location: Once you're driving on Harmony Grove Road, the sign for Elfin Forrest Recreational Reserve will "flag" you down. You'll turn into the little road entering the Reserve, which winds down to the parking lot. We'll meet at the trail head by the portapotties right next to the parking lot. Please RSVP so…
