About the event

In Celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day:

Come and immerse yourself in a day of learning about the Indigenous peoples of California at The Grove. With our location at Harmony Grove we have the opportunity to learn next to a tranquil creek about the Indigenous tribes that used to inhabit California. We will cover the Navajo, Hopi, and Pacific Northwest tribes.

Activities: Our students will have the opportunity to observe a collection of museum quality artifacts from Southwest Navajo and Hopi Native American tribes along with pottery from tribes in Mexico. Take part in our own archeological dig site and unearth your very own arrowhead to make into an arrow or necklace.

Students will learn how to ethically source from our natural environment just as the Native Americans did. They will forage for lavender and acorns on the property. This class was designed for children aged 4-12.

This is a 3 1/2-hour outdoor DROP OFF class. We will have access to restrooms & hand washing stations, but all hours will be outside. We will have some water and creek play as part of our learning environment alongside the shade of our beautiful Oak tree grove.

Cost: $80/student. 10% sibling discount available. Venmo to: @TheGrove-9115

In the memo line please include child's first name, age and Indigenous day in memo line.

Students should wear closed toe shoes and tall socks. Watershoes or rainboots are best for the water/creek play. Dress for mess with clothes that can get dirty.
