This small offshoot trail of Western Los Penasquitos features the seasonal Lopez Creek and lush riparian habitat. After a bit of grassy stretch we'll reach the thick tangles of willow, mule fat, and other riparian vegetation along the creek bed (seen in the image).

About the event
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for this easy, under 3 mile out and back hike. Bring plenty of water and snacks. There is a portapotty at the parking lot. Don't forget sunscreen, bug spray, etc. There is also a picnice table at the trailhead if you'd like to stick around for a picnic lunch afterwards.
