What: During The Revolution in the Orchard field trip, we will witness reenactments of the American War of Independence (1775-1783). This family friendly event features dozens of historical interpreters representing the soldiers and civilians of the American Revolution, demonstrating all aspects of daily and military life. Educational presentations and lectures include cooking demonstrations, military drills, swordplay, axe throwing, blacksmithing, and many more aspects of 18th century life. Each day of the event featured two thrilling battle reenactments with muskets and cannons.
Cost: $20 per attendee over the age of 4 (ages 3 and under are free); All ages are welcome (bring the grandparents!).
Time: Arrival time is 9:30 am; the event starts promptly at 10am. Please plan for the long drive to Julian. Carpooling is preferred. Expect to wrap up around 2pm.
Bring: Lunch, water, and dress for the weather.
Important Note: Due to this event's nature, there will be loud noises such as blank gunshots, cannon firings, and such throughout the day. These noises tend to scare young children.
