San Diegito Nature Exploration (Kids)

Oh, the gorgeous trees you will see here! Kids love being in this special place. It's a serene expanse of rolling green grass, yet has points of interest which kids can easily venture to and from: its duck and turtle pond, butterfly garden, woodsy hide-outs, rope bridges, and climbing trees.  

It could be a good idea to bring a backback with: snacks; water; "blanket" to sit on; hat; nature journal; water colors, colored pencils, or crayons. 

A couple notes about the park: San Diegito LOWER Park's entrance can be found on El Camino Real (as opposed to Highland Drive, on which is the entrance to the upper park).  The lower park's entrance goes through a duck and turtle pond! You will most likely easily find parking just outside the entrance.  Otherwise, for $3 cash or credit card, you can park inside. Also know, the park does have good bathrooms!
