There will be a negative tide at 11am so there should be some cool creatures to check out at the tide pools!
Location & Parking: The locals call this beach "Seaside," but on Google Maps please enter "Cardiff State Beach Parking." There is a large parking lot that is either $20 per day (yikes!), but most people will use their annual state pass to park there or park for free along the highway just south of the lot. Meet up in front of lifeguard tower 10 on the south side of the parking lot.
Fun things to bring include nets and buckets on top of your regular beach stuff. Even if its brisk, the kids tend to get wet in those pools, so it's a good idea to bring them a change of clothes!
