What: This will be a fun field trip touring a court in Vista. KEEP THIS PART A SECRET FROM YOUR KIDS. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE; I have been informed NOT to tell the students: The kids will participate in a mock trial in the court room. Roles will be assigned, and scripts will be provided. This is a really fun and unique way to truly understand the justice system and what goes on in a court room during trials.
Where: Address will be provided as the date nears, but it is in Vista (roughly 45-50 minutes from La Mesa).
When: The tour starts at 10am, but you MUST arrive by 9:40am to check in with Katrina.
Who: This field trip is geared towards 4th and 5th graders, but we will accept 3rd graders and up; no exceptions and no younger siblings. A group of moms will be gathering with younger siblings at a nearby park. I'll provide this location later, as well, for those who would like to join. Drop off is OK, as long as I have enough chaperones.
An email will be sent out the week of the event to provide exact location, parking, meeting, what to bring/not bring (no backpacks, please- we have to go through security screening- the less we have, the quicker we will get through), etc. Be sure my email address is in your address book: lamesa.homeschoolcollective@gmail.com
