What does a 2 1/2 year old should be learning by now? Daughter knows all her shapes, colors, Numbers, and abc before she turned 2. But she's resisting when I want her to learn 11 to 20.....first time mom.
I would say...there should be no pressure to "learn" anything. Play, sing songs, read to her...have her pretend to read....like trace the words with her finger and tell you the story after you have read it to her. Color together, write their name on 100 sheets of paper hahahaha...take nature walks...talk about what you see~hear~smell~feel. Hop like animals...pretend to be all of the animals around the world you can think of. My 3 kids who are now 14, 11 and almost 6 are child led Unschoolers. We have not forced learning on them but have allowed them to explore the world around them...get to know their limits and boundaries...help them find their interests. Keeping the joy in learning
When they are ready to -KNOW- something teach them how to dig and find answers. teach them how to learn...not what to learn and when to learn.
