I'm an Orton-Gillingham Reading Specialist (readingreach.org) and I recommend UFLI and All About Learning. I am also available for tutoring in Oceanside.
Phonics pathways. Simple, 10 min a day
I like the Orton Gillingham method. Anything multi sensory with repetitive aspects. If you can also do Lindamood Bell, I've found that super helpful for struggling readers (I taught for 20 years both regular and special Ed).
Hooked on phonics is fun because there are online games and workbooks. Super Great for pre reader. Logic of English is also great. especially for learning to write.
How to teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons
I used Logic of English with my youngest. It worked very well.
Logic of English and All About Reading are similar and solid options if you are looking for curriculum. I would recommend to look for something based on “The Science of Reading” / phonics-based. My youngest is currently working on Logic of English Foundations C and it has been working very well for us. Feel free to PM with any questions.
So, our approach to teaching is different then most. My kids teach themselves. When they have the desire to know they make the effort and have the motivation to push through. If you want to chat about it…call me 💖
