meet our co-op leads Suzette Loy Hi my name is Suzette and I'm a mom to my 4 incredible children. I have a 25 yr old UCSD graduate, a 22 year old in the Airforce, an 11 yr old and 8 yr old. My oldest 2 were in the public school system. I never considered homeschool as an option until SB277 passed. It was scary, especially since this wasn't part of my plan. I shut my business down to homeschool & I've been homeschooling now since 2020 without looking back! Having older kids, I understand how incredibly fast their childhood goes by. I've been able to embrace each moment and create amazing memories. My goal is to make sure my kids don't feel left out by not being allowed to go to public school. My mission is to make homeschooling an amazing experience and connect with all of you amazing families! I'm genuinely excited to work with all of you guys to make this the best experience for our children. Monet Holschlag I'm Monet. I've been homeschooling since 2012. I feel it's my responsibility to educate my kids, not the state's! I have 2 boys, Rhees (2011) and Terje (2007). Rhees is a master at Minecraft and enjoys playing soccer and chess. Terje is a mechanic and fabricator and likes all things off-road. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, yoga, reading, and all things fringe. We have been in Vista about 9 years. Looking forward to being in community with you. CONTACT A CO-OP LEAD SUBMIT YOUR INFO TO JOIN THIS CO-OP!

  • About Us | HSC Social

Having community can be a vital part of any homeschoolers journey, whether it be simple meet-ups or special events. Let us help guide you to finding the perfect fit. Our website is full of homeschooling resources for you! ABOUT US Our dream is to build a community that can grow with each family and their needs. To support our members each step of the way through their homeschool journey. To share thoughts, ideas, experiences, struggles, and triumphs. To walk together on this collective homeschooling path. Hello, Welcome! Hi! My name is Sara. I am a wife and mother. I have three children whom we have homeschooled since 2014. It was always my intention to educate my children at home and we are each blessed to have the opportunity to do just that. Our family moved to North County San Diego in the Fall of 2020. Shortly after that time I connected with another homeschool mother who invited me into her home for a gathering with local homeschool mothers. She introduced me to an amazing group of local homeschooling families and from that day forward not only have my children had the opportunity of creating friendships, but I too have found myself building many personal connections. This journey has truly been amazing in so many ways. I realized while sharing with others about homeschooling that this was bigger than just myself or my family. I knew more people needed what our group had to offer which is access to a supportive community. This is exactly what you will find here with Homeschool Collective. As a community we have seen the needs changing around us and so many of us wanted to provide more for not only our group, but for any family considering this path or are already on it. Please have a look around and know that each person you find here supporting the Collective has done so from their heart. Our community has grown because of the time and energy each of us have poured into it. It is our hope that this community and page will aid in the gaps that we have each come across. You will see many changes and additions in the coming year so please stick around. We can not wait to share it all with you. Thank you for being here and I truly hope this journey and time in your life is blessed beyond all measuring! Sara Shields

Meet Our Co-op Lead Elizabeth Griswold Hello fellow homeschool parent! My name is Elizabeth, and I live in Encinitas with my hubby and three kids. Wow, what an incredible journey it has been homeschooling so far! I felt led to take the leap and homeschool 3 years ago, ironically while in the thick of touring preschools for my oldest child. The spark was lit, we went on faith, and haven't looked back! I believe we moms (and Dads) deserve the connection and friendships WE need to thrive on this journey. I'm so looking forward to connecting with you! CONTACT A CO-OP LEAD SUBMIT INFO TO JOIN THIS CO-OP!

Previous Next Meet Our Community Leadership Contact must be an online member so sign up for free! Sara Shields Hey! My name is Sara. I’m a wife, mother, and homeschooler of three. We’ve been learning together at home since 2014. Homeschooling was always the path I envisioned for our family, and I feel incredibly grateful that we’ve had the freedom to follow it. In 2020, our circle of community closed. It changed while the world was changing along with it. We had to make a shift as a family. We decided to move to North County San Diego in late 2020 to be closer to family. While this was a blessing in some ways, it changed so much for us in terms of what we had built within the homeschool world around us. We had to shift from what we knew and begin to grow new connections. Things grew in ways we hadn’t imagined...and then grew even bigger. We poured our hearts and souls into supporting others and now have this community we call Homeschool Collective. In 2025, our family relocated to West Phoenix, Arizona, and I brought with me a strong desire to continue growing what we had built in California. Something that was never just about us, but about all families seeking meaningful support. My hope and dream is to extend this beautifully supportive and thriving group of humans across all states. That vision from 2020 has become Homeschool Collective: a place where families can come together, find resources, form real friendships, and know they are not alone on this journey. Welcome—we’re so glad you’re here. I look forward to meeting you and your family.
