I spent my childhood in Maine, climbing trees and playing in the woods for hours on end. I relocated to San Diego County over 20 years ago and now live in La Mesa with my wonderful husband and 3 boys. We began homeschooling in fall of 2020, and we haven’t looked back! We love our new homeschool lifestyle, but we missed being part of a community. My goal with leading this collective is to build community, create long-term friendships, and bring people together to share ideas, knowledge, laughter, tears, curriculum, and everything else that goes along with this amazing homeschool journey. My husband and I were born and raised in San Diego and are now raising our family next door to his childhood home in Santee. We never would have guessed homeschooling would be part of our journey, but I am SO grateful we took the leap at the end of 2021. Born and raised in San Diego, I love being able to see my own kids group up here in this beautiful community. My childhood neighborhood was in North County but I currently reside in Point Loma which we have found is an amazing community rich in culture and history! My goal for my children is to find their purposes and passions and to serve others with what they love to do. Amber Snow Hi, I'm Amber 👋 I'm a single mom to one amazing daughter and lifelong lover of doing things a little... well ...differently 😉 As an entrepreneur with ADHD, I’ve never really done “conventional,” so homeschooling felt like a natural fit for our outside-the-box life when preschool seemed like it didn't align. We've been at it since 2020 and going strong. I’ve been planning events for decades , and while I’m definitely an introvert at heart, I light up when I get to bring people together. Especially in ways that feel welcoming, inclusive, and real 🙌 Don’t be surprised if I crack a joke, say something awkward, or look mildly unapproachable while actually wanting to connect. I'm not mad, that's just my face. 🤣 I’m passionate about honoring neurodiversity, individuality, and building community that doesn’t put anyone in a box. I believe in doing what works for your family, and celebrating the variety that homeschooling brings. We live in the University Heights/North Park area and although I'd usually rather be online, I’ll always show up. I know the value of community and it's worth the effort. I believe it’s my responsibility as a homeschool parent to create meaningful, safe, and fun social opportunities for our kids. Especially as the mom of an only. We have been homeschooling for 4 years and I have experience with PSA and the Charter school route. I firmly believe it's time we take education into our own hands and there is no better time to do that than now! These children are our future and I personally do not take that lightly. My husband and I have a local ministry that has remained open during the pandemic. We are extremely passionate about alternative education, sustainable living and alternative health care. We have a homeschool center that allows families to utilize a drop off system while experiencing education through a biblical worldview. Our priorities include teaching life skills, critical thinking, and business expertise that is age appropriate. We strive to connect with like minded families and support them in their journey of homeschooling.
